Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles just dropped to end the series

Today, Netflix released Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The MovieThe official finale of the series of the same name, which ran from 2018 to 2020 on Nickelodeon. The series, which stars Josh Brenner as Donatello, Ben Schwartz, Leonardo, Omar Benson Miller as Raphael and Brandon Michael Smith as Michelangelo, is one of the most visually distinct scenes of turtles ever seen on television, with unique character designs. They characterize characters with more than just their weapons and the color of their gangs.

The movie comes just a day after the official title and release date were announced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Chaos, which will be shown in theaters next August from executive producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg and the team at Nickelodeon. Today’s release technically means that there will be two feature lengths TMNT Films released within one calendar year of each other.

Fans, as you might expect, are excited to see the new movie, but it’s bittersweet given that it brings with it the end of the famous movie.

“Leo and his journey are pretty much front and center,” executive producer You Ward said in a recent interview. “It’s in full swing, as it were.” Ward and Soriano revealed how Nickelodeon handled them during production of The Show’s second season Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles A story that can be developed into a feature film. Along with introducing the alien creature Krang, who was intent on conquering Earth, another idea emerged from their ideas of having Raphael pass the mantle of leadership to Leonardo, and how that changes things for the Turtles.

“The film was definitely our chance to do justice to the story,” added executive producer Andy Soriano. “He bleeds into the role of everyone else. Raff was the lead of the series. Raff was the oldest. And when that transitions to the younger brother in charge all of a sudden, that changes everyone’s relationship.”

The movie seems to put a definitive end to this version of the franchise, with many fans speaking on social media about how emotionally draining it was to watch it. However, most of them seem to like the end result. and with a TMNT Diverse out there, there is always the possibility of seeing at least this version of the turtle again.

Here’s the synopsis for Netflix: “When a mysterious stranger from the future arrives with a terrible warning, Leo is forced to rise and lead his brothers Raff, Donnie, and Mickey into a battle to save the world from terrifying aliens…Kranj!”
